Rumour mills working overtime- Nitin Saxen

The most deadly weapon today has proved to be the rumours  taking rounds of Whats App, TIk Tok on which the Centre has asked all the state governments to take strict action against the people who are rumour mongering on this pandermic.

As a fallout of the decision,  over 25 people have been arrested from across the country including 17 from Uttar Pradesh which include the quarantined people of a particular community at Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Noida among others who had expressed their anger over the doctors attending on them with vulgar speech and body display. Besides, the nurses were also not spared and were subjected to sexual overtones by the Jammatis.

Many of the arrested people have been indulging in rumour mongering promoting  video clip alleging that the Corona virus is God’s NRC and were allegedly instigating their fellow people to condemn the social distancing which is so essential at this hour.

One of the fake whats app message was that the medical teams were injecting coronus virus on the quarantined persons of a particular community. Another video –meme that went viral was based on the belief that God will save the particular community so there was no need for maintaining social distance.

Media has been reiterating for maintaining social distance had not been maintained  by the people holed up at the Markaz Manzil at Nizammudin here and the government has said that Tabligi Jammat has also been responsible for spreading the virus in various states as none of the member took social distancing seriously.

Not only this reports have come in from various places in the country including Kannauj and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh  and Hoof stone pelting and weaponry violence by Jammatis when the law enforcing agencies asked to disperse from a mosque where they had assembled for prayers during the lockdown.

As many as 17 celebs from different streams have joined together to send a message through their song, ‘chappa chappa  afwah chale’.  The song, a one-liner, features known chef Sanjiv Kapoor,  singer Hariharan and others.
